 Prehistoric mysticism and nature celebrations. My fascination with mysticism, spirituality, and love for nature is in my DNA. My mother celebrated every season with my sister and me. She taught us the names of plants, trees, and herbs at a young age. My father took me on vacation to England where we visited shrines from the time when the Great Mother (Earth) Goddess reigned. There, he let me perceive earth rays and the energy of these enormous stones. We even meditated in a crop circle.

 Priestesses of Avalon The trip to Glastonbury made an indelible impression on me. This village and its surroundings were said to have been the location of the ancient magical Avalon. Reportedly, Avalon was the home of a sisterhood of priestesses of the great Goddess. Later, I read about this in the book 'The Mist of Avalon' by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I fantasized about what it would be like to be such a woman, with all their gifts, skills, and magical powers. I read a lot about 'Hagedessas' (or 'wise women' who later, during their persecution, were given the derogatory name 'witches'). But there was no training to become a Hagedessa. So, in my spare time, I began to educate myself in some of the skills and knowledge they possessed, as far as that is possible.

“We live only to discover beauty, all else is a form of waiting” - Kahil Gibran.Once upon a time, as a young girl I loved mystery, magic, magnets, day-dreaming, dancing, stories, dressing-up, drawing, painting, animals and nature...When I grew up, I studied art & design at Winchester School of Art England, acquired in 1987 a BA-Honours degree in Fine Art & Aesthetics from Reading University. My first job was spent working for André Montgomery a London based global events organising company; my next venture was to assist in the opening / running of “Waterhouse & Dodds” a Bond Street London Art Gallery. After moving to the Netherlands in the mid ’90’s (for love), it was hard to find employment as a foreigner. So I re-trained as a lace-designer for ‘Dentex’, an Anglo/ Dutch company, and went on to spend many years working in the international fashion world.

Eventually I set up ‘PJP-Design’ in 2000. I continued to work as a lace-designer / stylist, working under contract & creating the brand “Lila Lace”. Parallel to this, I started to focus on ‘Trend-Forecasting & Fashion-Storytelling’ - the creating & giving of marketing presentations to International Textile & Retail Companies. This involved distilling into collages & text the zeitgeist (collective impulses / trends) fuelling the consumer / fashion worlds. I began to realise that what I actually enjoyed most, was the meaningful connections or underlying patterns behind outer manifestations. I liked bridging & correlating the inner & outer worlds.

Karin Schagen

Astrology

Karin Schagen has been fascinated by astrology since she was 18 and has completed various training courses in the field, including with Bert Esser of the WvA and Joyce Hoen. She has many years of experience as a professional astrologer and enjoys giving workshops and horoscope readings.

In addition to being an astrologer, she is also a trainer and coach in the business world specializing in personal leadership. One of her clients is Schouten & Nelissen. She provides training in time management, assertiveness, and mindfulness, combining practical application with awareness. See also her LinkedIn profile regarding this.

Her approach is experience-oriented; no dry theory, but experiencing what it really does. For this, she uses visualization techniques and planetary alignments, among other things! She loves showing connections between 'as above, so below' in a simple, practical, and inspiring way. What does all this mean for your life?

Her lessons are often pleasantly messy, focused, cheerful, exploratory, profound, and above all, safe. Everyone is allowed to be their unique self!
